Get Excited!! Tickets already on sale, could be biggest Ekka yet. I've got a strong/good feeling about the ride line up this year... That is all I will say.

Midi Dance Party looks quite small and low capacity really... I'd much rather see Hard Rock at EKKA over that ride...

I swear the lineup is getting smaller and smaller each year, with notable rides missing from the lineup like HARD ROCK. I'm also surprised to see Gill's didn't get Alien Abduction on this year. I'd love to see a few older rides like Twin Flip and Energy Storm get back on at EKKA or even Taipan. I really do miss Insanity and No Limit though.

Agree with you Hurricane. I'm disappointed with this line-up. Where is hard rock these days anyway?? It hasn't been at a show I've read a review on for a few months now???! It's also normally on the north run but it's a no show.

It's seems to be a stale staple of rides, there isn't much variety like you see at other shows. No a limit needs to comes back. Alien abduction?? Maybe ride list isn't complete? Durkins starship 2000 never did well, maybe that's a reason. Also no durkins at all this year. Very interesting!

I hope sideshow alley has at at atmosphere this year..

Hard Rock was sold to Verfuth's who are based in Victoria so it likely won't do QLD shows much anymore. Surprised it's not on at EKKA considering Hangover is attending.

That and it could well be Durkin's wheel attending and might just be a generic picture of a wheel but who knows. IMO Dean Davis has the nicer looking wheel. Will be interesting to see how well Techno Jump goes with Airmaxx360 attending this year.

Ok,thanks had no idea it had changed ownership. Techno Jump and air maxx is a total double-up. They really can't afford the space with two very similar rides! Yeah durkins portable wheel is ugly, much prefer the sky master!

Yeah, changed last year as far as i'm aware. And if I had to choose a big wheel for the EKKA it would be Skymaster followed by SkyView and then Dean's wheel. Durkin's chance model just looks nasty and dated. Personally i'm not a huge fan of Dean's wheel as it looks a bit bland but it's far from looking "bad" though. I almost feel with Airmaxx being on this year a ride like Techno Jump would be more suited to the children's carnival area than the main one.

Just updated the rides list with prices, and it does appear to be Durkin's wheel (my bad) One thing that I noticed is XXXL's price has been jacked up to $15 per person! Making it as expensive as Extreme Speed (and tied for the most expensive ride at the EKKA) I would love to see how well it's going to do at that price. I know for a fact I won't be paying $15 dollars to ride on it!

Something really has to give. With prices like that you are better off going to Dreamworld!! (I know it's totally against what we stand for though) Space in the very small shrinking sideshow alley sure must be coming more expensive!

We are going to lose the agricultural show as we know it if this keeps on going. Rant over..

I remember when XXXL first debuted at the EKKA it was $15 dollars but was quickly dropped down to the usual $10 dollars because no one was paying for it.

IMO it's pretty good the prices in general being streamlined ($10 for the extreme rides / roller coasters and $8 for the rest of the rides with a few being $7)

I'd say that Goldenway are jacking up the prices due to the low capacity on the ride thinking that they can gouge an extra $5 per person but I don't think it will last that long. Bells even did it with No Limit and dropped the price to $10 when it used to attend. I still do think the ride pricing is about what I expected, but for XXXL that's just a blatant rip off.

Interesting ride line up, might consider attend this year's Ekka as I'm now living in NSW .

Golden way had prices for the XXXL $15 per ride at the royal show last year in Perth which to me is understandable however I can't see why they put the prices up for the Ekka,if its only getting a few riders perhaps give it more publicity?

I am heading off this Thursday, got my camera and gopro packed! Expect reviews and photos/videos on the weekend! Looking forward to trying to new Airmaxx ride and getting back on Space Roller Anyone in Brisbane that is free on Thursday should come down and we could say Hi

I have also purchased the unlimited ride band for the first day only, so I will tell you all how that goes!

Did all the rides 5 times each today, That is all the way from XXXL, to space roller to Wave Swinger! Got stuck on XXXL as the floor wouldn't rise And rode Extreme Speed 12 times! Expect full review, photos, videos and POV's in the coming week
