Another Rainbow Removed
Heide Park removed their Huss Rainbow in March, due for a move in the park, but from these photo's, and news, Rainbow won't be making it's return to the once area in which HUSS would test their rides.
The area also removed it's CONDOR, which has been sold to another park. The area has been totally re-themed, and now includes a Zierer Wave Swinger.
Looks like the Rainbow is close to becoming extinct in the world.... could ours be next?
this is very sad to see.

Re: Another Rainbow Removed
Hmm that is bad news. So Huss would trial their newer creations at this park?

Re: Another Rainbow Removed
What other Huss rides do/did they have there. One the Rainbow and the Condor that was mentioned. Yeh hopefully the Rainbow might be given new life elsewhere or back in the park

At a rough guess, they have:
Enterprise
Topspin
Flipper
Magic
Rainbow
Condor
Pirate
anything more HUSSR?

Hopefully it goes back up or heads to another park. Always a shame to see a good ride get scrapped for no major apparent reason.

Re: Another Rainbow Removed
It wasn't for no apparent reason, the area where the Rainbow and Condor were happened to get rethemed and some new attractions added. Spose the rides didn't fit in with the new theme.

Re: Another Rainbow Removed
thats kinda bulls***... it's not hard to theme a rainbow like the area is... look at when Port Aventure had their mexican themed Rainbow... Huss know what theyre doing!

Re: Another Rainbow Removed
I would have loved to get hold of the Sun and Rainbow Arch. Hate seeing good rides that have nothing wrong with them go to ride heaven.
Re: Another Rainbow Removed
Why don't Heide Park just sell their Rainbow to anothe park or show organiser? Has Huss really decided to pull the plug on the Rainbow after all those chain of events - first the incident at Liseburg, and then the electrocution caused by another Rainbow? What is the world coming to?
There's still some Rainbows running in other places across the globe, fortunately.

Re: Another Rainbow Removed
The electrocution of an employee was not a HUSS (it was a 'fake' Ali-Baba rainbow) unfortunately even industry insiders, are under the impression it happened on a HUSS one. Here's a photo of it.

I actually like the theming on that ARM Alibaba. I like the AliBaba as a ride but never liked the flying carpet theme. If all the Rainbows disappear I'd be tempted to have on themed the same. I know its sacralidge but if you cant have the HUSS Rainbow this is the next best thing.

Re: Another Rainbow Removed
Thanks for the photos, odd to think a ride like that which has been well maintained is off to scrap. I never heard about this other incident on the A.R.M Rainbow, anyone have a link?

Re: Another Rainbow Removed
Ha! So the electrocution was caused by an A.R.M. Rainbow themed Ali Baba! Looks like A.R.M. rides aren't as safe as anyone thought after all! The Huss Rainbow won't and shalln't disappear. That won't make any sense. Nothing against the Ali Baba. Like I said, it's an okay ride, but I prefer Huss rides over A.R.M. rides.

Re: Another Rainbow Removed
The difference between A.R.M's & Huss's:
A.R.M.'s version has an external stabilizing mechanisim (2 drive shafts on the sides of the lower boom & 2 small spur gears that rotate around a stationary ring gear)
Huss's version is internal (a central drive shaft or chain integrated inside the arm, controlled by a bevel gear rotating around a stationary crown wheel)

Re: Another Rainbow Removed
Thats part of the problem, you cant see whats inside the arm of the Rainbow. At least on a Ali you can visually inspect the external drive whenever you want without to much effort.

Re: Another Rainbow Removed
But, do Huss still make spares for Rainbows? I hope Liseberg didn't have a court trial with Huss...RexDragon wrote:Why don't Heide Park just sell their Rainbow to anothe park or show organiser? Re: Another Rainbow Removed
They must have! Why else would the scarce number of Rainbows still be operating. I've seen recent onride and offride videos of Huss Rainbows from a couple of parks - Antibesland and Linnamaki, so they must have had their Rainbows touched up by Huss since the incident. If they have spare parts for Ranger, surely they should have spare parts for Rainbow. They stopped manufacturing both rides a long time ago, by the way.
Nah, I don't think Liseburg had a court trial with Huss. True, Huss faced bankruptcy, but that was before that incident occured.

Re: Another Rainbow Removed
High all sorry its been a while. But I have to say that ARM 'Rainbow' looks awful, it certainly looks like a fake! and at best a try hard attempt. IMO ARM Ali Baba's should stick with the traditional magic carpet ride theme.Zamperla wrote:(it was a 'fake' Ali-Baba rainbow) unfortunately even industry insiders, are under the impression it happened on a HUSS
