Iconic Easter Show ride on the slide
One of the biggest attractions at the Royal Easter Show has been told it's time to pack up.
The Giant Slide remains at Olympic Park for the rest of the year, but show management says the permanent structure is now impractical.
Owner Fred Pitroff has told 2GB’s Andrew Moore he thinks it's personal.
“They say what they want to do is they want to use this area,” he said.
“I told them as soon as they find something to put in here I’ll move, but they can’t show me anything or come up with anything.
“For some reasons they’re mad at me and they just want to get rid of me and put a portable slide in.”

Re: Iconic Easter Show ride on the slide
About time if you ask me, this ride is looking more tired every year. He says so they can put in a portable one, lol, I suppose it would be silly to put a ride up for 14 days and tear it down now. I mean it wouldnt be an eyesore or anything sitting there all year, and with a portable IE "euro slide" you dont have to worry about people climbing it all year.
Cheers OZ

Yeh I think its time for it to go too. Looking outdated now when compared to TPA's Euro Slide. Would be good to see it there.
Re: Iconic Easter Show ride on the slide
Sounds like a done deal, especially as they have nearly all their food vans there

Re: Iconic Easter Show ride on the slide
Definately Euro Slide is more better. Apparently they wanna get that old slide heritage listed now
Re: Iconic Easter Show ride on the slide
I've never seen it, but I couldn't agree more with you all. Having any non-portable ride constantly set-up on a site is just a waste of space and time! Lets hope it doesn't gain heritage listing.

Re: Iconic Easter Show ride on the slide
Oh cheers.. I now see what we are looking at. Yes its not the most attractive thing in the world. Euro Slide does indeed look much better. If fact TPA's equipment always looks good! Well there is nothing about it that seems like its worthy of heritage listing, except that pic makes it look like a bunch of corrigated iron water tanks. I say rip it out, its gotta be dangerous
Re: Iconic Easter Show ride on the slide
how are people going to get stuck in the barb wire and razor wire in the off season , like here in perth?

I Find it amusing that people still try and give it a go considering they just climbed up and over shitloads of barbwire, its really got me stumped.

And yeh who would bother trying to slide down during non-show time. Just more likely of getting hurt and really you could find better things to do then going into a showground and going down a big slideCoinKing wrote:Vee wrote:HaterCoinKing wrote:like here in perth?

If you are bleeding enough, you'll go faster (like a waterslide)
