Hey all,
Rocky show time again! Another year gone!!!
Anyhoo, I got a site down with the rides this year, instead of with the food like last year, looking forward to that!
Our showgrounds has had more development done over the last year and will see the showbag alley all undercover in the Robert Schwarten Pavillion.
Which is really a massive shed we use as our speedway pit area.
Which has left an extended area for the guild, so will be interesting to see what will fill the space.
Remember the cheap flights from Melbourne direct to Rocky on Tiger Airways melbournites...
And, Speedway back on the last night for the first time in 10 years!! Yay, might have to get the wife to look after the site so I can go for a skid!
Will be a busy few weeks out there as Aus beef expo only finished a week ago and the place is still full of marquees etc...
Public holiday on wednesday 3rd.
Ta, josh

You definitely sound excited Josh, will look forward to your updates. Some setup photos would be good, everyone seemed to enjoy Topgunner's efforts. :D

Yeh Rocky's a great show, should be another good lineup for you guys again. All loads for the skyview wheel have now gone from Hawkesbury showground so I'm guessing the wheel is making its way up to do some of the shows on the north run this year. Yeh some setup photos would be good :)

I believe the Skyview wheel has been built up at Darling Harbour Sydney and may be there for three months.

Filled up in a big hurry last night with the hum of hydraulic rams crankin softly all over the place!! :)
Didn't get a chance to have a wonder around but from my site I could see...
Magic Circus, Hang Over, Space Roller, Spinning Coaster, Sea Circus, Hard Rock, Ali Baba, Hurricane, crazy cars,
Mega Drop... That's all I remember at moment, was blowing a gail and cold late into the night. (Cold for us anyways)
With the extended ride area, can't wait to see what slots into where as it takes form tonight ahead of a start tomorrow...

Yeh hopefully another great lineup. Deefa Dodgem usually has the lineup by now. And at least the rides aren't being pulled into position this year with the bulldozer. Whats the weather forecast for this years show? And hope you have a good 3 days Josh

Weather looks pretty good on the radar so far. Cloudy etc, but it's not raining. yay...
The extended area we were hoping for hasn't panned out so there is a big gap right in front of where i am
to where the guild's area starts, so a bit dissapointing, but ya never know.
Did a quick walk tonight and lost track of the dodgem track count!! got to 4 and only went for a quick walk.. hehe
will try and get around at some stage and see what's happening... Hpefully deefa gets down here and does a review too...

Man I miss the ferrari carts!!! Speed is there too. Umm, what else,,, no power surge, was energy storm tooheez.
Was windy, overcast, drizzley etc most of the day, and was fairly quiet. Hope tomorrow is better...
Seemed to be a bit missing compared to previous years too. Definately a shame the whole area assigned for the rides was not taken up.
Left a big empty hole right opposite my sight, and made the area a bit of a ghost town... But ya get that!!
Hope all the operators have a good remaining 2 days and make it worth the trip.

I must have visited while the sun peeked out did it turn overcast again appeared it was going to be a ok afternoon when i left
I guess some of that space came from the show bags getting a new area
Was sorta wondering if some late comers might turn up for the show holiday
seemed strange they didn't reorganise the site a bit if they didn't have bookings for all that space
Was trying to think what was missing compared to last year
there a few I don;t remember being here last year and a few that didn't come this year

Hi all, usually have a list of rides in by now, but have been busy working at the show full time this year. Weather has been pretty good to us so far and things look good. I am going in early before I start work tomorrow to give you a list of what's here and what's not and what's back for this year. I will get it up for you as soon as I recover from the work load,16 hour day on Tuesday!. Refering to the 1992 Rocky Show photo, that was Brooks' Turbo and Durkins Force 10 making it's debut at the show. Just off to the left of the Big Wheel (out of shot) was Paviers Sky Diver.(remember that??), up there with my all time 5 favourite rides. Anybody know what ever happened to it? Cheers, Deefa.
