Got down to Rye briefly last night, to find Verfurth's Giant Sky Wheel parked in the middle of the carnival. Rumor is that it opens on the 14th, but the carnival opens December 26.
More rides should arrive next week, along with Wittingslow's equipment after they have finished their Summer Fun program.

Thanks for those pics Huss. I'm quite surprised that Verfurth's wheel has turned up, just as well it isn't a littler 20m one that the verfurths also own. It will be interesting to see what turns up?

Thanks Huss. It will be nice to ride it at night with the sea breeze drifting in from the bay on a hot summers night. I hope some decent rides make it there this year.

I think the wheel will do very well there. (it does well where ever it is)

Many thanks for sharing those photos Huss. Can you comment on how the cars were racked? it looked as though they were all taken apart with their walls stacked against eachother but I can't see too clearly.

Yeah, it seems so. I didn't want to get too close incase someone was around to yell, but they definitely are racked in pieces. A friend was down yesterday to pick her brother up, and she said they have begun setting the wheel up. Will go down end of this week / early next week.

It will be interesting to see what turns up at the Rye Beach Carnival this year. Has anyone been down to see the line up so far?

I'm guessing the usual turn-up of Wittz Cha-Cha, Dodgem Track, Breakdance and Pirate will turn up. I've heard of some other gear going down but I'll let Huss make the venture down to see what else is there.

Thanks for the info Top Gunner. It would be nice to see something different down there for a change (but I guess the Verfurth's Giant Sky Wheel IS something different). Regardless, I still look forward to it every year.

I know that Peter Short's Zipper will NOT be there as it's in Coolangatta again this year.

That was kind of expected, but a real shame too. I hope the two other rides appearing are decent. Twin Flip would be high on my wish list.

I'll let Huss tell you all. But I can say that they do capitals. And I kinda thought that the zipper wouldn't be back

hmmm..that does not really help us Top Gunner! haha, there are a LOT of rides which do the capitals, and it depends which capitals we are talking about. I guess I just have to wait it out now to hear some more (I am itching to know).

a Huss TopSpin will be making it's Australian debut from Wittingslow Entertainment, also the other ride that will be there this year is a Huss Flipper.... amazing to see down here!
