Who do you guys think has the best set of dodgems?
Just thought it was something we sometimes take for granted thats all.
Also, does anyone have any pics of how the fold up tracks rack or how they set up compared to the older styles?

hollywood drive is the best looking fold up track by far

i m not shaw i would say that its the best of the best but blades dodgems are very smooth and well maintained and a nice track to be on.

I dont think Laurie's is a fold up track but i love the graphics they put up around the top of the track with all the pictures of outback australia around the border, looks really good. Who owns Hollywood Drive?

Id have to say ours in a few years, a track does not earn money on how it looks, the atmosphere and who is working the mic earn the $$$$$.

If you don't engage the customers, they don't play. That's why my family only run 2 joints - it's my Dad's gear and my brother and I run them. We run them well and would make a whole lot more than joints with somebody who is on a set hourly wage.

Absolutely Vee, it can mean making money or not, also I have had an urge lately to do it again, I may have said that last time we had this discussion, but I used to have a great time, so would like to to know if I still have it, though not sure I would make a whole show, maybe wheel me out every now and then lol.

hollywood drive is a very nice track, however after seeing ausfun's track at melbourne show it is the best in my opinion, but i havent seen alot of tracks out there

PNC, dont you have a dodgem track, or your dad does? Is that a fold up track?

yeh i have one, its a fold up track, but its different to most as it has 3 folds not 2 like most do, it wouldnt compete at most shows though.

the roof collapsed on it a while ago so we had a new one built, it looks alot better than it did, but we havent had time to put a new banner on the front, so it looks a little plain, the kids at our fetes dont complain though

How many cars can you rack on your track PNC, its sounds similar to the track that Larkin Amusements brought in from Australia. Very nice looking track, but can't get a lot of cars on the trailer.

Why do you think it wouldn't compete at shows?

just cause its not in as good of shape as it should be, but i have other rides that needed the attention in my off period (my slide is pretty well new again, just the trialer to finish) next off season i will replace the floor so it runs smoother and make a new banner.

with the right operator it would compete well i think, but i dont do alot of shows anyway, especially now there is another para trooper on the lower run, i do more fetes than anything so i have no one to compete against

all that and i missed the question, i can fit 12 cars, they sit on the first fold of the floor and get strapped in, then 6 on each side they fold up with the floor, it is working soon, so ill try get a pic or 2

Must be a bit of weight with the cars on the walls, do the walls lift up with wire ropes?

they sure do, but they walls are smaller with the 3 folds, probably a meter smaller than a 2 fold track, so when set up its a pretty good size, yes it comes up with a wire rope on 2 12v winchs, we are going to change it to a hydraulic winch when we hae time, charging the batteries all the time is a pain in the bum

My track is fold up its the same similar to PNC's, its a three fold(biggest acyuall fold up in Australia) 62x40. 16 cars in the load plus two on the control box, my track is very rough at the moment but you will not beat it with any of em it is how you work em. I've worked the track PNC owns and it did better than hollywood drive.

dont think so oz, we over here have a 75ft track

i will come say hello to you at ekka OZ, you must have been on a roll when you were working it, i never knew of many other 3 fold tracks, yours must be deeper than mine as well (i never have measured mine) do your cars rack the same as mine?

Oz, was your track at Hawkesbury, the one next to the cliff hanger and opposite No Limit?
