Hey, a few years ago i went to America and i got a few good pics that ive decided to share with yous. I went to disneyland, disney california adventure, knotts berry farm, six flags magic mountain and universal studios hollywood. I had a great time and here are some of the best pics. Enjoy, and tell me what you think about them.

Disney California Adventure. The sunwheel i think it was called. I didnt get to ride one of the moving carridges because my family were afraid so we went on one of the outside ones, i was going to go back for it but there was so many more rides i didnt get the chance. Great ride but.

Knotts Berry Farm. This was one of the best rollercoasters i rode when i was in America. Its called Excelerator and i launches from 0 to 82 mph in just over 2 seconds. Its a 205 foot climb to the top then straight back down again. Gets the heart pumping, rode it at least 10 times. And it still didnt seem like it was enough!
Image

Six Flags Magic Mountain. Scream, and thats what it makes you do too. Its a floorless coaster that gives the illusion your feet will hit the track! The first ride on it made me scream, but then it just became fun. Drops down straight into a massive loop and just doesnt stop with the twists, loops, and drops, untill you arrive back in at the station. The ride had no que, so i kept going back for more and more! It was my favourite coaster in SFMM. Theres alot more to the ride than just what you can see in the photo by the way. Its just its hard to get a picture of the whole thing its that big!
Image

Universal Studios. There wasnt much to see or do in this park except for the revenge of the mummy ride and the jurassic park ride. I spent most my day there on these two rides, but they were both really good fun. The photo is of the giant hollywood globe out the front of the park.
Image

Disneyland. This was a photo from on the river ride in disneyland how the boat takes you around the river and you see all these funny things. It was great. Our host was friendly and funny. The picture is of a elephant showering under a waterfall, great special effects too.

And thats just a few of my good ones. Please tell me what you think. :D

Thanks for sharing those pics and experiences with us! :D Reading this thread brought back some memories of my own trips to the States. Did you ride Supreme Scream, Splash Mountain, California Screamin, Thrill Shot etc? I will be back in the States next year to attend a NASA reunion so hopefully will do some of these parks again.

Ben please tell us more about Nasa, you mentioned it to Zamperla and I recently, I was quite amazed that you actually had been on all the testing gear for training the pilots, this can be extreamly hard on the body, how did you cope.

hey. yeah i rode all them rides except for the thrill shot, which i dont think was working because they kept on launching it but with no one on it. and the california screamin was closed because i was told that there was a accident on the ride a few weeks before i went. they kept on testing that too which was just teasing me, because it looked like great fun.

Yeah NASA was an unbelievable experience and I sure got to experience a lot of Gs on those amazing simulators! The whole thing came about when a teacher at a school for the blind in the States somehow managed to secure some scholarships to attend the Space Centre and experience the life of an astronaut. I was lucky enough to get one of these and got to go twice which was amazing! Many of the rides are originals of some we have in our theme parks and carnivals, the Enterprise and Gravitron are two that spring to mind and a larger version of the Slingshot is often used to simulate blasting off into Space. One common examination is to ride this Slingshot thing several times in a row, almost without stopping which is quite a challenge and often with a full stomach of food too!

Astronaut training isn't just doing the rides; there's a lot of Maths involved which I'm pretty hopeless at and the life itself is very difficult. For all that, I really enjoyed the experiences and I made a lot of American and other friends out of it. :)

Yeah I didn't feel so good after that many times on that ride but it wasn't as bad as I had feared. The good thing is that you are encouraged all the way and you find yourself doing things and overcoming challenges you would never normally do.
