I'm not really sure if I will be there but last year was a bit of a surprise with Space Roller and a few others making it down there. Does anyone have any information?

I got down to the St Kilda Fest on Sunday - a perfect Melbourne day, blue skies, not too hot not too cold, and the people were out en mass - newspapers reported a crowd of up to 380,000 in the general St Kilda precinct. Most main roads were blocked off and the area was abuzz with stages, live bands, waterski and BMX demonstrations.

The ride area had been moved further up the esplanade than other years but most rides were still quite busy.

For a one-day event (rides did not operate on Saturday) the ride selection was exceptional.

Spaceroller stole the bulk of the foot traffic and was still managing to do mostly full capacity cycles from 1pm onwards - the music was strong and varied - the ride generates an atsmophere all of its own. (and was being operated very well as always with plenty of crowd interaction I might add)

Hurricane was to the far corner of the ground and was not ideally positioned, perhaps for this reason HUSSR you may have been dissappointed (always better when you are swooping over the heads of people when it is jammed right in to a tight area)

For those in Victoria, Hurri will be appearing this coming weekend at the Moroondah Festival (Croydon) and the Berwick Show the week after.

OzShowie has covered all the other rides there.

Always good to see so many rides at a free-entry event, with so many happy faces from the general public.

I hope it was a success for the ride owners involved.

OzShowkid, was good to catch up again.

Great to hear u had a great time dave. Space roller is a real atmosphere creater. I love the techno music pumpin and all the sounds like the countdown and the interaction. Whose hurri was there?

Owned and operated by Dragon City of Bendigo Victoria.

Well, it's good to see that Dragon City's hurricane is traveling around. Now... all we need is Bells, Durkins, Pink's, Joylands, Marchs and Youngs to travel more often and let the Hurricanes return!

Thanks for all the info and picture. I now see we have 7 Hurricanes, that's great but I rarely get to ride one these days. I'd love to see and ride Marchs some time. I hope to see Dragon City's Hurricane this weekend if possible (weather permitting, doesn't look too good at this point, looks like a storm, hehe no pun).

Incidentally, in my opinion Dragon City's Hurricane is the loudest in Australia (louder than Bells) - I had no trouble finding it at the St Kilda fest (not cause I could see it, I just followed my ears)

Its not that I didn't like hurricane for the atmosphere, it just wasn't thrilling nor exciting... more happy to ride Space Roller or Zipper

That hurricane was very loud when it was out here, thought the new owners may have improved that aspect. It is looking a lot tidier than the last time I saw it.

Is their Sizzler any faster than it was before it left here, you could literally walk round faster than it run at full speed?
