Force10, what do the markings look like? do they have anything written on the surface to indicate owner / ride?

Zamperla, they didn't have anything to indicate exactly who owns the spot - but they are little yellow T's and Crosses, much like the markings used for stage set-ups etc for props. I can work out what will be there from estimation of the size they mark out. I.e claw has a much smaller foot print than Hardrock. and also history, the RNA doesn't change things around too much from year to year. An RNA worker was marking out spaces in 'NOVA PARK' he had a sheet in his hand - looked like it would have had amuesment spaces, and who was in them... should have had a chat to him.

You can see where the markings from Last years spots were, they have been blacked out with spray paint. Hmm I thought Taipan would go, seemed the only logical thing for it to replace. - Crazy Coaster presents very well. Also TPA would be holding on to any ground they still have since they've lost Raupen Bahn. I hope some things have arrived already - will give you all an update on the weekend.

Ekka website now has Magic Circus down as attending as well.

Pirate's Revenge should be up at the showground by now. Reckon someone could get a few photos of the ride racked, maybe too late now. Would like to see the new trucks and the 4 new B-double's Joylands bought for the ride to trailerise it

Rides are packing into the amuesment area! Priates revenge, starship2000, claw, euro slide, haunted hotel, breakdance, crazy coaster, crazy cars, star flyer, skywalker, hangover slingshot, wave swinger, cliff hanger, circus circus,and starship simulator.

Spaceroller is also there. I forgot to mention roller ghoster as well.

I did take photo's but only on iPhone so they are terrible. Was also losing light... Wasn't planning on being there today.

Mmm... I was told Wave Swinger got the boot for the new Sky Flier, glad to see that it is back I still think we need to kick off Breakdance and put Cyber Party in

well now u mention it I don't think the main part of wave swinger was on grounds. But I did see a truck that had cosmetic parts/ lights belonging to wave swinger strapped to the top of it- which made me think it was there. The small truck could just contain parts to skywalker aswell. I assumed it would get booted for starflyer. I watched them put up the tower! It doesn't look like mega drop got a spot. It's usual spot has a game on it! Weird use of space!!!

Hmm... it could have had a unexpected technical fault with the Mega Drop. As far as the Truck with the lights on it goes, I don't think it belongs to Skywalker. But I could find out for you.

I haven't heard that Mega Drop got the boot so I assumed it's still gonna be there.

With the Sky Flyer getting a spot over the Wave Swinger, I think this could happen with Sydney Show next year too. I think March's Wave Swinger could get booted and then there will still be O'Neill's ride down in the kids carnival then possibly I could see Sky Flyer going in that spot where Wave Swinger has been the past years

So what's going on up there? Haven't heard much

Driving through the city, I can tell you that Insanity, Speed, Space Roller and Sky Flier are fully set up. I have only seen them at night though and I'm not sure about the rest.

It's going to be a great EKKA, I wish I was going this year. Am looking forward to some photos and reviews.

Well after doing some research, here is your first look at SKY FLYER which was at the Townsville Show. Looks pretty good, obviously not as amazing as the european Star Flyer or Around The World, but great nonetheless. I'm not really a fan of the entire tower rotating, nor there being no proper base... but it's good I guess.
