Easter Carnivals

Post by princess »

The "Shire" has its own carnival this school holidays, small carnival, from the look, they are just setting up, looks there will be a ranger of some sort, it was still racked, so not easy to identify. Anyone living close its at Miranda, cnr Manchester and The Kingsway.

I'm guessing there'll be carnivals at St Mary's, Liverpool and Bass Hill.

Liverpool will have East Coast Amusement's, Foster's Amusements and Amusement Hire Services gear. Dunno about the others.

Hmm a Ranger?? It's not the Hangover is it? I can't think of any other Ranger's around, or could be Watkin's Kamikaze but I'm guessing that'll be around Northern NSW and Queensland?

My first thought was "Hangover" so it could be hard to tell, driving at 60ks, trying not to have an accident

Wouldn't suprise me as the Flarherty's don't really do many shows, mainly carnivals and stuff.

I hope it's Shockwave as it doesn't come to Sydney all that often and I am yet to try it! I understand it is slower than the Ranger/Kamikaze?

It is a bit slower I think compared to other rides of it's type, due to the counterweight being a different shape and higher up on the arm. Comparing Watkins Kamikaze and Flarherty Family Amusement's Shockwave ride, it's quite interesting that there are only a few months difference between models. With Watkins being a early 1992 model and Flarherty's being a late 1992 model.

The Miranda carnival is operated by Smalls and Festival Amusements.

It was also there in the latter half of last year.

The Hangover is there and not the Shockwave. There is also Smalls dodgems and ferris wheel. I dont know whether they are staying until Easter. There is also an event at Cronulla over Easter, its called the Cronulla Easter Fair and they are going to have some rides but i think they will possibly be kids rides.

Does anybody know whether Verfurths still own the Shockwave ?

You mean whether Verfuth's still own Hang Over? Flaherty's still own Shockwave though.

Yeh that's Joyland's that run that Easter fair at Cronulla

No problem, yeh pretty sure they do, haven't heard anything saying that they had sold it. Seeing as though its not on Sydney this year doesn't surprise me it's doing other work.
