Just about ready to start. Had to tow trailers in by excavator. Even my 4wd got boogged putting the Clowns into position.Should be lots of fun in the mud

Was in the area today so quickly called into the carnival to get a few flics. In a pretty good position there on the main road so it would get plenty of viewing and I heard they go well most nights down there which is good. All gear was looking good too. The carnival is operated by East Coast Amusement's, Foster's Amusements and Amusement Hire Services.

Disco Show: This is John Phelan's new Miami Trip. This model is a funlight model so different to the Ferrari ones we have here. So it is smaller in height and a bit different in its own ways of course. Must admit, I'm not a fan of its artwork or the overall look of the ride.
Jungle Challenge: Had a few graffiti tags on there which is a bit of a shame, but it is Liverpool so yeh.
Tea Cups: Nice set of tea cups. First I've seen them
Circus Train:
Good carnival overall, shame I couldn't get there while it was open. Hopefully the operators go well for the rest of the period they're there for.

Umm, no Huss unless you'd wanna blow the engine on your car lol. You still need a truck to tow it except the ride has the drawbar which you can see in the photos and the back of the truck has the ring feed connection which then hooks up to the drawbar. Alot of the showmen in Europe use the drawbars on most of their rides

Is that how Disco sits when it's not operational or were they still setting it up? Seems like an awkward spot for
it to sit stationary. Very bright etc, love it! The disco/dance type theme seems like a popular one for rider interaction
so can't wait to see it in action. Maybe Phelans need to kidnap old matey who operates ultimate party machine and
tie him up in their booth with the mic taped to his mouth and not let him out! hehe... Great Operator!

Yeh most operators swing the row of seats up to the top while the machine isn't operating and lock it up there. Yeh I think the Ultimate Party Machine is the best operated Miami here in Oz probably, and yeh he sure is a whizz the operator of it

Am pretty sure the counterweights on an empty 'bench' are heavier than the ride itself. i.e. without manual brakes, it naturally rotates to the top. A while back the manual brakes failed on a zamperla 'crazy bus' during a power failure causing it to rise to the top. (right when a mother and child were half way through exiting the ride) no one was harmed.most operators swing the row of seats up to the top while the machine isn't operating and lock it up there

i know the dominator doesnt try and go to the top, but the boat is a bit heavier than most, it would also depend on the weights, the dominator has short weights that come off during pack up, i think people put it up top to stop public jumping on it while closed.

Yeh that's what I first suggested that they swing it up the top to stop the public.
Just while we're talking about the Miami's heres a photo from behind the backwall showing the counterweight system. Most of the Miami's here in Aus have the counterweights connected and structured on their own whereas the Funlight models weights are built into 2 big steel wheels. The weights are on the bottum here and behind the wall:

Nottingham UK Maimi's require at least 3 riders to ensure bench is heavier than counterweights. Otherwise in event of power failure, once the hydrualic brakes are released the bench will spring to the top.

Great video. The rim drive system is simple but clever, and probably cheaper to maintain (also allows a high gear ratio for smaller tyre-drives to power it)
I've often wondered what the ratio is on the HUSS Rainbow or Ranger. I'd say an empty gondola on those would be equal (or very slightly heavier) to the opposite end. feels that way when riding with only a few people on board.
