It's that time again. Moomba is on 7-10 March and the rides list looks interesting to say the least. First of all FreakOut is going to be there so :D No Limit's back so I'm definitely making the trip up. By what I can see on the map the major rides we're getting this yer are as follows:

Sky Flier
Airmaxx 360
FreakOut
No Limit
Rock Star
Pirate's Revenge
Speed
XXXL
Sky Walker
Rock & Roll
Mega Drop
Disco

Love the look of the map check it out :D https://www.facebook.com/moombafestival ... nt_mention
Don't ask me why but I'm actually looking forward to something rides related :D

OK upon further inspection we're NOT getting No Limit, but instead a freaking Capriolo! Since when did we get a beautiful monster like that and who own's her? Also if possible can we see pics of the new machine? BRING ON 8th! I'm heading down on the 8th because the buses and trains run more frequently. Definitely expect some sort of review from me, but I won't bother with pictures because of the hassles and everything else. So is anyone actually getting excited for this year? I am if you can't tell :P

If you don't mind me asking, do you have any solid proof on the capriolo arriving? I've had a look on the moomba site and can't seem to find anything to suggest that the ride we are getting isn't No Limit. The map on the site is meant to be reasonably accurate but it's entirely possible that they have just made the picture for No Limit a bit bigger than it should have been.

Honestly, until I see it in person or pictures to suggest otherwise I wouldn't think that this ride has actually been brought into Australia. If anyone is interested the "rumoured" unit is Cyberspace.

If you go onto the comments section of the facebook page, click on the map and it will expand and you will notice that the ride has a yellow star at the top and a sign on the main supporting arm. It's definitely NOT No Limit. If it isn't a Capriolo then I apologize for jumping to conclusions.

I've read the Facebook comments, and honestly I wouldn't count on artwork being 100% accurate. As much as i'd love it to be true, I will believe it when I see it.

Don't get too excited there mixer. It's probably just No Limit, it's nothing more than some art on a map. Guess we have to just wait until March, I doubt I will bother going this year unless someone can confirm more.

Even if it's just No Limit I'm still going to be happy because the queues aren't bad on that ride during the day. When I went on it last year I just rocked up and it was sweet. Plus Freakout is going to be there so it will be a good day.

I wouldn't say never... stranger things have happened here... unless it's physically too big for our roads.

I've ridden an ECLIPSE in Berlin and they are huge, I just don't think they are necessary for here, No Limit is fine, and I think the majority of public wouldn't even notice the difference If a Capriolo was to appear at shows here...

Was there a big difference in the overall ride sensation between the Capriolo and Furioso? I will admit looking at videos the bigger variant does look slightly smoother than the smaller one.

The map trolled me :P We are most certainly getting No Limt and you know what? I'm glad I'll get to ride her again :) Nothing will make the day crappy either. So I admit that I made a mistake for thinking that we were getting a new monster machine. So as a recap for the major rides they are as follows;

Mega Drop
Sky Walker
Extreme Speed 2
XXXL
Disck O
Fungee Bunjee
Sky Flyer
Airmaxx 360
No Limit
Freakout
Rockstar

Not a bad line up if you don't mind me saying. Saturday week I'll be going.

The capriolo is a lot better.... smoother, faster, just overall more exciting. I was petrified the first time I saw it, the thing is a beast in person, but being upside down that high was awesome! they operate it almost identical to NO LIMIT, except they do the station lock properly, and hold you upside down more! Loved it!

Went past the carnivals last night...

Birrarung Marr:

PIRATES REVENGE
FREAK OUT (Which looks so damn awesome!)
NO LIMIT
SKY FLYER
AIRMAXX 360

Rock Star was nowhere to be seen, so who knows where its coming from
This is also the first year BREAK DANCE has been absent, which is really odd...Birrarung Marr is by far the worst carnival, it's literally a waste of time being on that side of the river

Alexandra Gardens:

SPEED 2
XXXL
MEGA DROP
CRAZY CARS
DISK'O
SKYWALKER

More kids rides scattered throughout now

DURKIN'S WHEEL in Alexandra Gardens kinda where Enterprise used to go

O'Neills has brought the Wave Swinger back after a few years of it being gone, it's just in the middle of the old carnival amongst tents, and MAGIC CIRCUS is where LA BAMBA was in 2002

odd layout this year, they've just scattered rides anywhere they could, I still don't understand why everything just cant be in Alexandra Gardens, but whatever.

Break Dance wasn't there last year either. Instead they had the Ferris Wheel as a replacement for the Crazy Coaster and the Cliffhanger as a replacement for the Breakdance ;) I'm glad that No Limit is on Birrarung Marr because it means I don't have to walk as far :D I'll be there on Saturday. I might go on Sky Walker again. It's a very uncomfortable ride, but it's still fun.

Birrarung Marr is only worth it for FREAK OUT and NO LIMIT, other than that, its a waste of space

Had an excellent day at Moomba today :D It was hotter than I anticipated though, but straight to the review :D

No Limit: On my first ride the gondola was free to do it's own thing from the word go :D Also I was the first one on the ride for the day :D The ride was rough as anything and they were playing Fall Out Boy :P They should've played Boom Boom Boom Boom by the Vengaboys instead if you know what I mean ;) I went through the station upside down so I was so happy that the Cheshire Cat looked like an emo :P On my second and last ride it was a bit more relaxing. The gondola was still rough, but I got the free fall and slingshot effects thrown into the mix :D Here's a fun fact for you. No Limit is now 8 years old :D

Rock & Roll: I decided to give this over glorified Matterhorn a go seeing as I didn't bother last year, well I wasn't excited or anything. The only sensation I got was some g-forces and tingling, but nothing else. Only rode it once.

XXXL: This ride now sucks imo. It just makes me nautiated like the Pirate and 90% of other pendulum rides do. It's just boring now, whenever I ride it my car does bugger all :( Every other car is flipping, but mine only does 150s if I'm lucky :( The honeymoon between me and XXXL is over! Rode only once.

Sky Walker: Is it just me, or has the ride become more comfortable and more intense? Seriously screw Space Roller and Power Surge! This ride uses those 2 for toilet paper :D The G-forces were insane! Sure my shoulders weren't impressed, but HEY I'm finally a fan of Sky Walker :D Only rode once.

Freak Out: This ride was a fun one. Seriously it's more exciting than Hard Rock and it's most certainly a little higher. The lighting package was a bit try hard imo. Multicoloured LEDs don't work for every ride, but all of that aside the ride was smooth and the safety harness took me by suprise. I mean a lap bar keeps you secure :P Anyway this ride HAS to be at Moomba next year :D Rode once.

I was thinking of going on Speed 2, but in all honesty the over the top lighting and overall presentation put me off. No photos from me because I couldn't be bothered taking any :P Have an awesome one guys :D

No Limit isn't 8 years old... it's been in the country for 8....

Also I think FREAK OUT's lighting is the best i've seen on a ride here EVER hands down! I could see them through the trees from the other side of the river... effectiveness was achieved.

Had a ride on saturday, probably not as intense as HARD ROCK, but was more fun for height, and them lapbars... it was soo much fun having free control of your upper body!

Id say if you've ridden FREESTYLE, you've ridden SPEED 2.... pretty much identical, I think just slightly SPEED 2 gives a smoother ride and a bit more upside-down airtime over the top...

Sorry Mixer but it seems like from your post you've just come on here to share your negativity towards the rides you saw/rode ..... May aswell not go to any show again because nothing seems to be up to your satisfaction. Hope you had some fun while we all worked hard to make sure people enjoyed themselves over the weekend.
