Post by tziolasamusements »

In my old time 1990s working at Lygon Street Festival in Carlton set up all lots of old Wittingslow's major rides on Argyle Square which very amazing organised all the ride are squashed each side in small park with lots of trees!

The rides which are need the crane to loads the booms are very hassle from trees also the rubbish bin places and some tree branch had cut out for clearance
These rides run only 3 day festival with lots of major rides and lots of trailers loading

10 rides were set up at these days are
Huss Breakdance with 3 disco balls on centre
Huss Ranger
Huss Rainbow
Huss Pirateship
Huss Enterprise
Zipper
Double Ranger without sign word on top to clearance the tree hitting
Matterhorn
Ferrari 500
Dodgem Cars with 6 post hoist
Kids rides
Games

all rides price are $2.50

I got some of photos but I lost all of it! Anyone remember these and got these please do share this also share the story too thanks

Did they ever own the Force 10 and Hurricane? I always remember seeing these rides amongst them.

It's ashame. I wonder what the industry would look like today if they were forced to sell off everything. Now we have so many operators with some top quality gear that have the opportunity to get on at our capital shows which were once pretty much Wittingslow dominated. But I guess they would have been so big that we would've kept getting world class attractions.

im sure if wittingslow were operating at the same capacity as they were in the early 90's we would have seen them owning a SPACE ROLLER, CAPRIOLO and other european majors.... it was always a shame they couldn't bring a HUSS TOPSPIN over because of our laws.... they should have got a TOP SPIN 2 instead of that fabbri mess!

I know that we alreay have a KMG Inversion! I'm talking Wittingslow getting one. I had a little chat with Michael at the Rye Kids Festival this year and I asked him about his views on XXXL (Goldenways KMG Inversion) and he said he didn't want one.

WHy would he? Don't think Michael Wittingslow would have any intentions of buying back into the latest machines and having them on capital shows. That's now a thing of the past, I could never see them buying anything spectacular nowadays

Would love to see Pirate and of course Rainbow back on the show circuit.

Did Wittingslow Amusements ever own Python Loop and Splash Canyon? I thought they did but I could be wrong. I'm also thinking they owned the Yoyo before it went to Tomteland with OFA. Does anyone know for sure?

I've got a few ideas for the sign. 1. Create a treasure map with an 'x' on it with lights working accordingly. 2. Update the original (and best) sign by putting in multi-coloured led's so then they can work in sequence.

They should also give the lights on the ship itself an upgrade by using different levels of blue to give the oceanic effect.

Not like it will actually happen, but I think it would be cool to see the the above become reality.
