Good on you Matty. I can't wait for the new AAF site; I'm sure it'll be something special.

I don't think I'll make it up to Brisbane for Ekka but you never know... I'll be doing the next best thing, reading all the fantastic reviews and going green with envy.

I suppose they are setting up the Skymaster and chairlift already; Ekka is definitely on its way! The Power Surge and Space Roller are quite different and I hadn't thought of comparing them previously. One thing that is similar is the sound systems which never fail to belt out awesome music with exc...

Good review! It's a shame the weather is so wet here in Sydney today; both that carnival and Luna Park wouldn't be getting too many riders I think. :(

Your reviews are appreciated as always. I've never ridden the Shockwave before, despite it doing many shows in my neck of the woods. Is it as fast as O'Neil's Ranger? I've heard it isn't but is still a fantastic ride. You lucky Redcliffers getting free entry on the first day; that's something I can ...

Thanks for that great news. I'm sure you'll love the Turbo when you ride it. I bet it'll be at Hawkesbury and a whole heap of other regional shows next year; perhaps the capitals too but they don't usually go in for older rides. Do you know where Bell's hold their Christmas carnivals? I've heard it'...

Interesting! TPA are building up quite an impressive collection of rides; a carnival featuring only TPA gear would be pretty decent I reckon.

theres something that I'll always love about O'Neills ranger... i think it was all those times wittingslow would bring it out... such a classic ride! im glad its still around I completely agree with you Huss. I was so thrilled to see it was still at some of our shows this year and going better than...

Welcome to our Forums!

I checked out the Topgun at the Narrabeen Carnival over Christmas; I hadn't seen it previously but it's identical to O'Neil's Ranger I think.

Will check out that carnival at St. Mary's if I get a chance.

Personally I think LPS should be relocated entirely, definitely still on the harbourfront but in a larger area; away from houses and where they can operate for longer hours and can expand with new attractions. A possible location could be that new development in East Darling Harbour, that'd be perfe...

Very disappointing. :( It's good no carnivals or shows are planned for Sydney in the near future; the recent rains would've caused them to be put off or at least the attendance rates would've been terrible. What we need is an indoor carnival! As silly as that sounds, some of those rides are more tha...

How frightening and painful! Kentucky Kingdom has had a lot of bad luck with malfunctioning rides over the years, a pity because it's a great park. The Kentucky State Fair always has a heap of permanent attractions as Six Flags is on the grounds but they still get in a heap of carnival rides as well...

Agreed! I'm surprised the Power Surge isn't doing QLD and NT shows but will do well at LPS anyway. It'll finish up just in time to head up to the Ekka presumably.

If the residents are successful in getting rid of LPS, it will almost certainly become another residential tower or office block, even though the land isn't zoned for it at the moment. Luna Park should definitely stay open in my opinion but it's only the functions that people hold there that are rea...

Yes Bell's Hurricane is awesome but I haven't ridden it for some time. It doesn't do too many NSW shows these days, mainly down the South Coast, Canberra and the occasional Sydney suburban show. I had hoped it would come to the RES, replacing Durkin's one but it wasn't to be unfortunately.

I've found every Aussie Hurricane I've ridden to be excellently maintained. I think March's and Young's units make the loudest noise. When Durkin's had their unit, it seemed to be not as loud for some reason. Perhaps they did something to dull the sound?

Did Bell's put their prices down to $10.00 during the RES? It sure was $15.00 when I was there and they had no trouble attracting riders. The queues were a mile long! It was the same for Speed. I'm definitely not a fan of Slingshot rides although I admit they are a huge thrill and an unforgetable ex...

I wonder whether the Skyview Wheel has done any shows in Queensland? It will probably be at the Ekka but surely it will do some regionals as well.

It's a fairly quick trip from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast along the Gateway Motorway. It'd be worth going to this show just to ride Flashdance!

The newer rides definitely draw the crowds into the capital shows as people who aren't carnival enthusiasts like ourselves go specifically for the thrills. I personally would like a mixture of old and new attractions as we have at Hawkesbury. At that show which I always praise, you could find No Lim...
