I'm glad Twin Flip is there, it's a good ride IMO. Crazycoaster424, it does have very high lateral Gs, which I find makes it a lot of fun. You won't know which way is up and which is down. It's a very unique ride experience.

HUSSRAINBOW wrote:doesnt beat when Wittingslow had it around 1997, different colour tubs, white frames, white boom, all neons working, even the centre circle lighting up with the wittz logo.... perfection.

I love it HUSS! Great statement, and it was perfection.......I couldn't agree more!

I'm ok with this years setup, it's good to space it out over the Yarra a bit. I'm kind of sad there are no old classics (well, Waveswinger is there). Still, it's a nice free festival, I'd much prefer this over the RMS. Agree? (key word here is FREE). I do think people are more inclined to go on some...

I know for sure Bells have taken their rides (including Thunderbolt) to the Dandenong Show. Last year was different though. I'm also sure they do a lot of other spots too, I remember Thunderbolt in Lilydale a couple of years ago or so. Sorry I don't know any others or how to contact them.

^The one with Power Surge and No Limit high in the background is a good one! ..... I will probably be seeing the exact same thing for real this weekend at the Moomba Fest in Melbourne. It should be a good fun weekend.

I thought it was going to be the arrows as most people were hinting. hmmmm... It's looking ok this way though. I don't mind it at all. I would still like to see some other colors used on the tubs though (and the yellow boom should be all white or something else). I am glad the sign seems to be fixed...

Regarding the new v's old rides, I feel new does not always mean better in some cases. Don't get me wrong, I like some of the new rides more than others, but when it comes to the old classics, there is not one ride I can think of I don't really enjoy. Now I think that says a lot.

Found this little clip which shows the old Moomba when Rainbow, Zipper and Pirate were there (and others). Thought it may be of interest to some here, that's all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8mP2kZUmco EDIT: haha, still on youtube and I stumbled across this one of the ex Wittingslow Zipper (Davi...

There is Moomba which is in Melbourne. It finishes on March 10, so you may want to check it out if you can. Usually a big carnival with an 'extreme ride zone' (well that's what the website says haha) and a kids carnival as well. It gets some good carnival rides. I don't know what will be at the Gran...

Did anyone get out to the Canberra Show? It would have been interesting with the doubled rides. I would love to see some photos.

Yes it was Dragon City's Hurricane. It's a really good ride and also very loud. Alpine Express was there as well.

Great shots you had of Super Loops. It seems to go pretty fast through the station. Nice. Yes Ben, there was an explorer there too, and it was quite impressive in that it switches direction so fast. It must be well looked after or they really know how to operate it well. I hope I see Super Loops tra...

looks like a top line up. I wish I could be there, I would run back and forth riding the 2 zippers and hurricanes all day long, and when I need some rest I would just hop on one of the others, like No Limit.

Thanks for all the info and picture. I now see we have 7 Hurricanes, that's great but I rarely get to ride one these days. I'd love to see and ride Marchs some time. I hope to see Dragon City's Hurricane this weekend if possible (weather permitting, doesn't look too good at this point, looks like a ...

I never thought about the RES and Moomba being so close this year, this could make things very interesting. Who knows we may see some old classic rides return this year to help fill some ground space. There is a lot of room down there by the Yarra.

I really have seen much better line ups at regionals lately than some of the capitals (excluding the EKKA and RES). Melbourne has lost a lot of its shows great attractions . it seems it all started just after the mad mouse events of 03? then the zipper was out in 04 from memory. Hurricane was no mor...

Princess. Hurricane is one of the best classic rides to have ever existed IMO.:D It's very thrilling for young kids, and even for some adults and a lot of teenagers too. Now, I think that just about covers a large segment of riders right there. I can understand why it may not appeal to everyone thou...

2008 St Kilda Festival

I'm not really sure if I will be there but last year was a bit of a surprise with Space Roller and a few others making it down there. Does anyone have any information?

yet more METROPOLIS news

so I see the media again have created a new story regarding the Metropolis at LPM. Keep in mind the call it the MAD MOUSE!!!! I feel sorry for LPM, since they did all they were supposed to do (they stopped the ride before anything bad was going to happen) and have still made the news, and with no on...

I hope to see this coaster travel to the east, RMS and RES at the very least. The operators would be craaaazy not to. EVERYONE likes to see a looping roller coaster.
