Re: Where Is "Star Dancer" ride??

Got to love Work Safe and their seamless ability to ruin rides both functionally and cosmetically - sometimes their fiddling with a ride's design actually makes them less safe!

Re: Adelaide Show '11

Must say, SkyWalker is a spectacular ride to watch - when the arm rises to full height it looks fantastic - and it has a fantastic small footprint!

Adelaide Mirror Maze?

Does anyone know where the old Mirror Maze from the Adelaide show is now? It was a semi-permanent structure which was kept at the show for many years until being sold a few years ago when all the permanent rides were removed. I last heard it was in QLD....and I am pretty sure this is it as seen in t...

Re: Adelaide Show '11

Crazy Coaster's spot is now filled with the Extreme and some sideshows - why isn't the Crazy Coaster at Adelaide? Adelaide has one of the highest attendances for a Capital show in the country, either they were turned down, they have technical problems, or have been paid a very good hire fee.

Re: Adelaide Show '11

I still love the atmosphere of the Adelaide show - the RAHS has done a fantastic job keeping the "carnival feel", I especially love how they have planed the main entrance. You walk through the beautifully recreated gates and are faced with Lawrence's Grand Carousel which is directly in fro...

Re: Adelaide Show '11

Were doing well with Skywalker, today was running full loads... The layout of the carnival is a bit confusing at times, No Limit looks like its on its own street behind Ali Baba but is actually cornered in.... bit odd... hopefully the weather holds up this week Oh good! Must have just been a quiet ...

Wow, why isn't SkyWalker pulling any crowds? Give it a few more days, all you Adeliadians :-D need to experience the magnificant ride cycle lol! I honestly don't know - I haven't ridden it yet, it doesn't seam to pick up much speed? I can't believe how fast the Extreme goes! What an amazing ride - i...

Re: Adelaide Show '11

Big Dipper has been doing well, always has a line - yesterday they were running a 12 person train every 50 seconds @ $10 a ticket continuously for hours on end. Space Roller (as usual) had a line and was doing well - not as busy as the Big Dipper though! Disc'O seams to be doing okay, not great thou...

Re: Adelaide show 2010

The Rock 'n' Roll is one of the best presented rides i have seen in a long time. Notice the black and white "tiles" at the front of the ride keeping in theme with the 1950s look. Chants even had girls dressed in 1950's clothing out the front of the ride. Fantastic job! The thunderbolt is a...

Re: RAINBOW FOR SALE.

Huss you would probs know what is going on with O'neils Rainbow, it hasn't been operating in a while. I really do not understand why, it was always an extremely popular ride, and he spent so much money on it. It was really something seeing it swoop over the midway in all its glory.

Re: Mad Mouse (Ex Adelaide)

So that means Bob has bought the Mad Mouse back from OFA? Doesn't surprise me it has been in his family from the start - he would have quite an attachment to it. Hope he brings it back over to some summer carnivals, etc. I remember the last night it ran at the Adelaide Show in 2007 Bob had tears in ...

Re: Mad Mouse (Ex Adelaide)

I contacted OFA, they said that the Mad Mouse is now in indonesia for a job being operated by someone called Billy Paul. Hopefully they don't just trash it after a few years, the ride could be totally restored - and it would be worth it, people still love the ride. Zamperla: Yes, I love going and ha...

Mad Mouse (Ex Adelaide)

Does anyone know if the ex Adelaide Mad Mouse is still running? Who owns it now (Is it still OFA?) and where is it? I have heard rumors it is indonesia, but isn't the melbourne mouse in Indonesia? I am quite sentimental about the mouse, I want to be sure it is being looked after :P - when I have the...

Re: Adelaide show 2010

The weekend, except Sunday, was pretty bad in terms of attendance. However, even though it was pouring people were still buying tickets to ride. The Mixer does not seam to be drawing any major crowds, I have seen it on many occasions with just two people on it, or nobody at all. The Hangover appears...

Re: Starting an Amusement Ride Business

I am looking at starting with a gyroscope style ride, as it is small, relatively inexpensive and from my research seams to be very popular. I am also looking at a couple of inflatables for school fetes etc. I have already derived a business plan and consulted my accountant, it all seams workable, ju...

Starting an Amusement Ride Business

I am considering investing in a Amusement ride currently for sale, and would like some opinions on the matter.
What are the steps to be taken when starting a amusement business?
Where can you obtain public liability insurance? How best to Advertise?
Any general tips?

Thanks, just interested
