Re: Ipswich Show 2013
Hmmm... that basically leaves no Zipper's travelling to most of the regional shows in QLD as both Davis and Castle's Zipper were the ones that did that travelling... pity. Hopefully it mean's Short's travels a bit more.

Re: Ipswich Show 2013
Well... both zipper unit's have been taken off Amusementz.com.au so who knows. I know Johnny sold his Zipper and just operates his Super Trooper, Joints and Canteen now... could it possibly be Shorts zipper? As I know their dodgems did Ipswich last year.

Re: Ipswich Show 2013
Interesting to see the Zipper coming back... wonder if it's Dean Davis's zipper coming back out from retirement or the newly sold Castle's zipper? Sadly I probably won't be able to head out to Ipswich...

Ok thanks for the info mate. Im not keen at all to work a joint so maybe this is not for me. Well, you've gotta start somewhere I guess and work your way up. Don't underestimate how fun working a joint can be though... I had some great times in my little roller derby :D But you can always ask, you ...

Re: Work
Most shows are 1 or 2 days a week on the north run in smaller towns. So you could spend a day setting up, then a day or 2 working pull down at night, set up next day then show the day after. It really can depend on each company, some weeks you might work 1 show a week... others you could do 2 - 3 a ...

Re: Ekka Work / Local Brisbane shows work
I thought Elwin pulled out of EKKA a few years back due to lack of attendance etc. I know he hasn't had any of his gear there for 2 or 3 years at least... same reason why Joylands don't take Power Surge. I'd happily work for Bells though

Re: Work
Depends where your looking at going, if your looking at doing something like the north run in QLD expect to do 2 - 3 shows a week. The work involved is very hard work, involving LONG hours each day (9am - 11pm) alot of the time. As far as set up / pull down that can also be quite intensive work. I k...

Ekka Work / Local Brisbane shows work
Hey guys, Was just wondering if anyone knew of people looking for staff to work EKKA and shows in and around Brisbane this year. (Crackerjack, Ipswich, Redcliffe, Pine Rivers etc.) If anyone knows of anyone hiring could you possibly message me or post here. I've had extensive experience spanning 4+ ...

Re: Ipswich Show 2013
Interesting... Power Surge normally did the Greek Festival as well I thought... same with Trindalls (So that would mean Cyber Party) Normally isn't the greek festival a different weekend to Ipswich show? I know it always clashed with Gympie though... I do remember the year that it was rescheduled to...

Re: what is the legal age in australia to operate a ride
As far as theme parks go you are required to be at least 18 to operate any amusement rides
Carnival rides really depend on the owner... generally it's 18 as well to operate the ride controls... but loading / unloading you can sometimes do when a bit younger (16+ I'd say)

Re: 2013 Camden Show
Yeah, looks to go almost as fast as Thunderbolt... I do remember reading something about Matterhorns in the UK not being allowed to run backwards anymore for some reason... apparently they were not designed to run backwards at fast speeds. Was on a forum I was reading although I'm fairly sure that i...

Re: 2013 Camden Show
The ride is owned by Glen Blades and was purchased from Mark Benson from the London area and not George Brewer Jnr. I I used to do a lot of decorating work to the rides owned by the Benson family before moving to Australia. I believe that this was the last Matterhorn built by Sobema, Mark bought it...

Re: 2013 Camden Show
Hmmm... seems from videos i've seen of this particular matterhorn it doesn't go backwards... I wonder if the previous owner in the UK didn't run it that way or it's not geared to run in reverse. The previous owner of this particular matterhorn was George Brewer Jr. as far as I am aware, there were s...

Having rode Pandamonium at Dreamworld (bigger version of the Air Race) I really would love to see one of these rides travelling our shows. One of the really good things Dreamworld does is they have a hard and soft cycle. The soft cycle only swings to around 120 degrees so it doesn't go fully upside ...

Re: New thrill ride opens this weekend!
The ride has a "hard" and "soft" setting... the hard setting has the ride doing full 360 spins and the soft has the cars only going 180 degrees. There are 2 lines for the attraction and each arm can run on an individual setting as far as i'm aware. The ride is also called Pandamo...
