Fisher's Ghost Festival 2010 (Carnival photos added)
The annual Fisher's Ghost festival in Campbelltown is coming up in the coming weeks running from the 4th - 14th November. The carnival runs on the weekends with the following times:
Fridays (5 and 12 November): 6pm to 10.30pm
Saturdays (6 and 13 November): 2pm to 10.30pm
Sundays (7 and 14 November): 2pm to 9.30pm
Location: Bradbury Oval, Campbelltown
The contract has been handed over again this year to a different company with them being O'Neill Combined Shows. No idea how Joyland's lost the contract, they did a great job last year with a fantastic layout, rides, variety of different attractions, games etc and how professional they made the carnival look. But some good rides heading there this year with some never seen before at the festival. Lineup being:
No Limit
Space Roller
Fear
Love Express
Wave Swinger
Gravitron
Trabant
Circus Fun Factory
Kids Rides
Games
Food Canteens
Really suprised to not see Ranger on the lineup, I'm guessing it'll end up showing up. And will be interesting to see Fear, see if all the problems have been sorted out. Great to have both Mondial machines there aswell.
I'll be heading down one of the Saturdays so expect photos and videos.
Cheers

Thats really odd that Joyland's aren't doing this years festival, i thought they had a multi year contract to do it??
Anyway looks like a good line up so far.
I'll be there on one of the weekends for sure..

Re: Fisher's Ghost Festival 2010
Sadly it wasn't there for the 2008 Fishers Ghost when O'Neills ran it, so I don't see this year being any different.

Re: Fisher's Ghost Festival 2010
Got a chance to head down and check out th carnival on Sunday, pretty warm day, shame Pirate's Revenge or O'Neill's Adventure Island weren't there, would've been a good day for either one. But yes O'Neill's were given the contract this year which meant they bought on alot of their attractions plus a few other operators. Got to see some of O'Neill's other rides before which I'd never seen which included the Love Express (looked a bit dodgey), Trabant and Gravitron and their Dodgem Track which looked a tad rough.
Their usual big name rides were there including Ranger, Fear which has had no problems during the time of the carnival which is good news. Also Wave Swinger and the Wacky Worm coaster but of course minus their major staple attraction being the Rainbow which I saw driving home as I went past their property. Was great to see both No Limit and Space Roller coming up to Sydney and going off route from their normal Victorian run. Got a few photos and a few videos aswell:
Love Express:
Gravitron:
Wacky Worm:
Ranger:
Wave Swinger:
Trabant:
No Limit:
Fear:
Space Roller:
Just waiting for one more video to upload and I'll post the links for those. May head down again tomorrow night, not sure yet. Anyway enjoy!
Cheers

Here are the links to my videos. Ran out of battery to get any of the Space Roller which was a bummer. And take note of the Fear video, far out that thing is so rough!

Great pix, thanks mate.... makes me soo angry that almost all of O'Neills major rides got set up except Rainbow.... Is this actually serious?
I dont understand anymore. Can we officially say goodbye to the HUSS RAINBOW in Australia now?
it may aswell be in a scrap metal yard

Thanks for the pics and review Top Gunner!
I'm really happy to see Fear operating problem free (touch wood) after it's early issues.
Cheers

Great as usual TG!
Yeah Fear is totally rough and very disorientating but overall I think it is a good ride which will probably be back at RES next year if it continues to operate normally. I haven't ridden that Trabant for years but I remember it being a good and pretty fast ride.
