Just recently looked at used rides website and there are 4 rides for sale:

Larson SuperLoop-(who used own this)
Mad Mouse-old adelaide showgrounds one-$150,000
Matterhorn-whose is this? $290,000
Flashdance-I think about $350,000

Will b a shame if all of these go overseas.

Cheers

cmon someone buy the mad mouse!!!! hmmmmmmm $150,000 - if only I had that much! I wonder how much they will jack up the price this year since its the last year we get to ride it! I dont understand why they can't just put it into a new position - seriously I assumed they jsut thought it would disintegrate (its that old!) when they pull it down but obviously not if they are gonna sell it.

and one wonders what they are going to do with the massive gap next to the mad mouse this year - surely there is some more rides out there to fill this gap until they build their new pavillion.

Hopefully all these rides are bought by aussie showmen. This is wittingslow's matterhorn isn't it. I don't know of any others. That is cheap for the mad mouse. Would also b good 2 see the superloops travelling again

I'm with u Huss. I'm sure they still own pirate, breakdance and cha cha. They must also be lying about the mad mouse, galaxi, la bamba and the simulator. I wonder where they got that pic of the zipper :? cause it has the face on the ball in the middle of the spine. What happens if someone rings up and wants to order one of the roller-coasters or the matterhorn or another ride :?: What will they say "sorry we don't currently have them or somethin". Anyway, see what happens

I knew about galaxi, but why put it up if overseas. They won't bring it back hear if someone wanted to hire it. But why do they keep the mad mouse under wraps. Maybe it's making a comeback....but i doubt it. As for the zipper, it does look like it is old. Is that the one that s now owned by davis :?: And where is labamba???

It is interesting to note that they only want $150000 for the mad mouse. It currently has about 40,000 riders per year just at the Adelaide show and at $7.50 each that is $300000. Obviously insurance has to be paid, ground fees, workers etc etc etc,, however over a number of years it could be quite a profit earner. I don't know much about the costs associated with running the ride but so I may be wrong. Feel free to comment.

I guess the Mad Mouse is cheap because it really isn't an appealing buy for carnival ride operators and there aren't too many amusement parks in Australia that would accommodate such a ride. Then again, Aussie World made a big success out of their Wild Mouse so I guess anything is possible. Two parks that could possibly run a Mad Mouse successfully could be Jambaroo Recreation Park and Magic Mountain.

That would be a good ride for Jamberoo. I don't think the showmen these days want a old wooden coaster. Probably harder to transport. How many trailers does it rack on (well how many did wiit's rack on?

Just about the Matterhorn and the Superloop r both owned by John Short.
Also what happened to Lew osbounes superloop? Did it get sold overseas?

Was there really more than one Super Loop in Australia? I know of the one formerly owned by Wittingslow Amusements which did the Show circuit throughout the late 80's and early 90's and was a permanent attraction at Darling Harbour for four years.

I'm pretty sure ben there was more than one superloop. There was Witt's (where is this), John Shorts which is at Max Lauries yard in dubbo (it also has a keen customer i was just recently told) and also L&L Osbourne used to own one. Correct me if i'm wrong bout any of the info above

Lew Osbourne's 'lattice' Superloop got taken to the scrap metal yard.

I was not aware John Short owned the matterhorn (if this was the same as the one Wittingslow used to travel) - at that point it was owned by a man named Colin Browne on a long-term lease.

Does any one have any pics of the mentioned lattice Super Loop, any more info on it would be greatly appreciated. I.e. who built it, and when.

Cheers
