Re: Gladstone Show 2010
Josh, the small turnout is probably because the showmen value their health! I used to work at the Yarwun Alumina Refinery a couple of years ago and the caustic stench in the air was putrid, not to mention the chemical plant next to it used to produce cyanide as well as other chemicals. Also the Glad...

Re: eKKA 2010
Just a question in general, seeing that I've never been to the EKKA (yet). I would have thought that Shorts Dodgems would be at the EKKA for sure, but this year his Dodgems were at the Mt. Morgan show (just out of Rocky) on Saturday 14th August. Does he usually do the EKKA? I remember going to Mt. Mo...

True PNC, the wheel travels on 2 trailers as I seen them at the Rocky Show and looked like they had been newly registered in QLD. Sorry to hear you blew 10 bucks on the "deal" stall to see how it works. It all depends on how the case is opened! If it is opened one way, say to the left (Upr...

Ha! Fibreglass?? Only boats are made of fibreglass. Proper Dodgem Cars are made of REAL STEEL! I know which sort I'd rather restore. (which I am)
Sorry, couldn't resist.

Re: ROCKHAMPTON SHOW 2010.
Yep, that's the one. Grounds are still filling up with Hardrock,Hurricane,Alpine Express,Davis' Dodgems and the Energy Storm (I think) plus a few more tucked in there somewhere. XXXL is up and more should roll up on Friday after Emerald show finishes. Going down Saturday for a wonder around, so will...

Re: ROCKHAMPTON SHOW 2010.

So far we have the much anticipated XXXL in plus: Extreme Speed, Shorts' Zipper, Crazy Coaster, Space Roller, Mega Drop, Haunted Mansion, Hang Over, Blades' Dodgems,Circus Fun House, Ferris Wheel, Jumbo Slide. ROCKHAMPTON SHOW 2010.
THE Rocky show is only a matter of a month or so away and things are in full preperation. With Emerald show not clashing with Rocky this year, hopefully we'll see a few different rides this year. I'm still to find out if I'm working this year, but keep an eye out for a review from myself and Josh. Wi...

Josh forgot to mention that "Insanity" (Miami type ride) was there as well. I have to say that this years line-up wasn't one of the best we've had.John Castles Zipper looks like it has finally had a bit of work done to it as well........Deefa.

Re: SIZZLER / CHA CHA
McGregors Amusements have a Scrambler. I believe they still have it, they had it at the Gladstone Harbour Festival in 2008. I will probably get down there again this year to verify that they still have it. McGregors have had it for many years and it was still in its original colours with factory 'wi...

Well said Zamperla. We only pick up on comments we here along the grapevine. If these comments need clarifyiny then the owners should set the record straight. Name calling belongs in the gutter.

Ex warb??.....obviously 'showie speak'. Mate, I'd be stoked if "enthusiasts" were as keen as they are to speak about my ride if it were mine. If nothing on here is correct, then set the record straight for us. After all, you're the man! You OWN the ride..........

Re: Semaphore Beach NYE Carnival 2009/10
Thank god for that! I didn't think I killed off that many brain cells in that short amount of time, I thought it was more purple and green, then again, it could have had a paint job in the meantime. Good to see more rides coming over from the states while the dollar is up. Now if some one could just...

Re: Pinks Paratrooper.
Thanks for that guys, it's just a shame none of the 'older classic' rides are doing the regional shows anymore. Trindalls used to bring their Super Trooper to Rocky then stopped which only left Pinks' Para trooper. Would be good to ride one of these again. The only photo I could find was a black and...

Re: Semaphore Beach NYE Carnival 2009/10
Geez, it looks like the one that's owned by Bills' Amusements just out of Rocky in Central Queensland except I thought it had a different paint job. More purple and green? Is this the same one I saw a couple of months ago up here or is there another lego style hurricane in Australia??

Pinks Paratrooper.
I have noticed lately a few different pictures of various Paratroopers. They used to bring it to the Rocky show years ago and was wondering who bought it off them and who has it now? Cheers............Deefa.

Re: The HURRICANE
Ah?, thanx Josh. I had a feeling it may have been Bills' ride as that is usually who fronts at our local events. That now adds to his Jurassic Park themed Sizzler and Slide, all he needs now is a couple of thrill rides. I will have to keep an eye out for it around the Gracemere area where he parks t...

Re: The HURRICANE
Speaking of Hurricanes, does anybody know who owns the Hurricane painted with purple and green on the arms and carriages that is fitted with the square boxy "lego" carriages? It was in the Rocky paper about 4-6 weeks ago and was at a festival at Yeppoon, just out of Rocky. I had forgotten ...

Josh, I saw the Star Dancer on the news story of this years Gladstone harbour Festival as well. Other than that, it was last in Rocky in 2002. I did hear that the Star Dancer was used in either the opening or closing ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympic games and was used as a rising platorm from gro...
